For mountainers looking for the best performance on a complete tour (up and down), skis must be as light as possible, definitly.
But for free-riders who prefer to have high performances downhill, skis should keep some inertia especially for very high speeds.
Imagine a stabilizer which would weigh only 68 grams on the way up (because it's in the backpack), but which would give the same inertia as 1000 grams downhill (because it's at the tip of the ski)... this is the STAB 68-1 000.
