The BLACK POWDER 170 SW-UL COMPACT replaces the two previous versions 170-F and 170-R bringing two major innovations.

The SW-UL structure is a new design ultra-light (UL) specially optimized for short and wide skis (SW):
- this ski is more flexible at the ends than the 170-Flexible (maneuvrability, lift-off)
- while being more rigid in torsion at the center than the 170-Rigid (grip on hard snow)
- with a record weight of 892 g / ski
- and always the optional 10-year warranty.

With its COMPACT shape (short heel and shovel) the BlackPowder 170 has in fact a length 165 equivalent 173:
- reduced length 165 cm for more lightness, more maneuverability and more ease (kick turn, corridors, back pack)
- contact on snow 150 cm (usable length 91%), more than many skis 173, for grip and stability.

The no-rocker shape is a deliberate and carefully considered choice:
- it allows to lengthen and stabilize such a short and light ski
- compensated in powder by the great flexibility of the shovel.
